Big Seas LLC is
dedicated to the history of offshore racing
thru video footage. We look at the action on
and off the water, in the pits, on the
docks, the owners, the team members and the
legends of offshore racing. We bring to you
video footage spanning from 1978 to 1992.
The
aerial footage was originally shot with a
one of a kind camera mount that to this day
out shoots anything in the sport. The team
that shot the original footage was the only
team to ever perfect live to tape
coverage. A lot of our footage was shot from
a helicopter with the doors off, 10 feet
over the seas and 20 feet abreast of the
action with the load roar of the race boat
engines below!

***2 RACES ON 1 DVD***
This two race package is a sampler of
vintage NNRT action videos. Covering two
of the greatest events of the "glory
days of offshore," these races give the
viewer a clear picture of the
excitement, fleet size, and racing
action that represented the most
successful days in racing history. These
videos take you back to true competition
and the drama of big fleets of closely
matched racing at its best. (90 kminutes) |
|
|
|
Note: NNRT footage was very different from the
competition. It was not taken "with a stopwatch"
and covers the racing rather than a parade of
boats. It was the most sought after racing
footage of the time and appeared on all of the
major telecasts of the day. It was announced by
Rich Luhrs on a "live to tape" basis from the
helicopter, and our new collections have been
overdubbed and updated by him to bring you up to
date and offer historical perspective. All of
the collection DVD's were edited by Darren Luhrs
from Phil Lewis' wonderful original NNRT
footage.
